POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Vice-President of ASC Operations and Clinical Services

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance will play a key role in our organization by ensuring ongoing compliance with all ambulatory surgery accreditation standards, rules and regulations.

This role requires extensive knowledge and experience with AAAHC, TJC accreditation and both state and CMS regulations that apply to ambulatory surgery.

Travel: This role involves extensive travel (50%-70%) to Sovereign Healthcare’s multiple CA centers located in Orange County and Los Angeles.

Responsibilities: 

The primary accountability will be to maintain full compliance with accreditation standards, CMS and state regulations.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

1. Work with Center Directors on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement to include ensuring ongoing QA and PI studies are conducted.

2. Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation, state and Medicare standards.

3. Monitor applicable regulations and communicate to Center Directors to ensure compliance.

4. Ability to develop policies and procedures, clinical forms and tools when necessary to ensure compliance with new standards and requirements.

5. Collaborate with Center Directors to develop and deliver staff training that meets all ASC standards.

6. Monitor compliance through on-site visits and audits.

7. Attend QAPI meetings when requested.

8. Conduct mock accreditation surveys to ensure survey readiness.

9. Work with SVP on the onboarding of new ASC’s as it pertains to clinical and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications: 

1. Registered Nurse- (BSN preferred)

2. Minimum 5 Years of:

  • Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement experience
  • Infection Control Guidelines for Surgical Environments
  • ASC AAAHC/TJC accreditation and compliance
  • State and CMS regulations pertaining to ASC’s

3. Project management experience is a plus

Arizona Endoscopy Center located in Central Phoenix  are currently searching for full time Center Leader to work Mondays – Fridays who has the ability to work cooperatively with staff and physicians while performing a variety of tasks.

Major Responsibilities Include:
Coordinating and directing activities of the center according to accepted standards, managing the fiscal activities of the center, working collaboratively to oversee the supervision and direction of nursing care and patient scheduling. The Center Leader is responsible for management of all aspects of personnel, education of personnel, and administrative duties. They work closely with the Governor’s Board and center staff in coordinating patient and staff service functions.


Education/Experience:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (Master’s degree preferred)
  • At least five (5) years of healthcare-management experience
  • At least one (1) year experience in an ASC
  • GI endoscopy experience preferred
  • CPR certification and/or ACLS certification
  • Evidence of leadership qualities
  • Strong ethical and moral character references
  • Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
  • Computer literacy with word, excel and email

The Lead SPD Technician provides a variety of technical functions and duties to provide for the decontamination, sterilization and assembly of re-usable patient care related supplies, equipment and instrumentation. The position is also responsible for maintenance of records and ensuring equipment is in proper working order.

  1. Decontaminate and sterilize instruments
  • Decontaminate, sort, package, and sterilize instrumentation and equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
  • Provide appropriate sterilization indicators in packaging; documents parameters and outcomes of sterilization process
  • Assemble and test instrumentation and power to ensure proper functioning prior to sterilization
  • Coordinate decontamination process of instruments and equipment to ensure adequate availability for cases
  • Process contaminated scopes according to manufacturer’s recommendations and departmental guidelines
  • Operate autoclave, Steris and washer sterilizer, as appropriate to provide for timely availability of instruments and equipment for efficient departmental operations
  • Handle and care for instrumentation and equipment to prevent breakage and damage

 

2. Oversees SPD department in conjunction with management

  • Actively participate in staff and team meetings
  • Assist in decision making to ensure complete and appropriate information is shared amongst patient care team
  • Maintain records of all sterilizers, biological and chemical monitoring of steam, and steris sterilizers to ensure proper operation, sterility of instruments and supplies in accordance with regulatory recommendations
  • Maintain Bowie Dick, biological and chemical monitoring of sterilization in accordance with established policy to ensure daily incubator reads for positive and negative spore testing; institutes recall of instruments and supplies when necessary
  • Work in conjunction with management on appropriate selection of new equipment, supplies, and instrumentation
  • Provide flexibility in hours to meet the needs of the patients and the department

3. Acquire ongoing education regarding instrumentation and sterilization and relays pertinent updates to staff

  • Participate in a variety of unit based and hospital sponsored educational programs to maintain skills and competencies
  • Participate in operational and quality improvement initiatives; proactively evaluates systems, participates in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Rotate, store, and order supplies as needed
  • Use instrument tray sheets for proper sorting and stringing of instruments and to indicate missing items

4. Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested

Required Position Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in CS/SPD

Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • Experience as a surgical tech
  • National certification as CSPD Technician
  • Central Service Supervisory certification

Administrative Director, ASC – Tucson Surgery Center
The Administrative Director works under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer. The position is responsible for outpatient surgery administration including operational efficiencies, budget optimization, clinical quality outcomes, HR management and strategic outcomes. Five years of previous experience as a senior manager with proven success at daily operations management and strategic business development in an ASC or similar complex environment.

Participates in financial and cost-containment decisions, and ensures that the center meets all related local, state, federal, and accrediting-body rules and regulations. Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The job description for the Perioperative Nurse incorporates the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses’ Standards, Guidelines and Recommended Practices (AORN). RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Competence in oral and written communication.
  • Intermittent and prolonged physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling and pushing of carts, equipment, etc. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist; be able to kneel.

1) Clinical Services Manager Pre-op/PACU/Endo: This is a salaried, M-F day position with no call, no weekends, and no holidays. The job requirements are 3-5 years of managerial experience in a Pre-op/PACU setting, BSN, CPAN (preferred). This candidate should also be flexible, have great time management and organization skills, and great communication skills.

2) Part time OR RN: This candidate should have experience in a main OR with strong background in orthopedics &/or pediatrics. No call, weekend, or holidays

3) Full time Pre-OP/PACU/Endo RN: This candidate should have 1-2 years of main pre-op/PACU experience. No call, weekends, or holidays.
